What Are Some Good Places For A Family Vacation Over The Summer?
by James on Jul.17, 2009, under Vacations
Me and my family (Mom, Dad, 2 brothers- 13 and 17- and me- 12) want to go somewhere over the summer for a vacation. We live in Delaware, and we don’t like to fly that much. What are some good places for vacation that are in driving distance?
We are looking for places with Amusement Parks, Water Parks, Go-Karts ect. Anything fun for the whole family.
And if you know any good not expensive hotels in that area, can you add them too. Thanks.

Why not Sandusky Ohio — home of Cedar Park, one of the very best theme parks in America (FAR better roller coasters and more rides than Disney’s Magic Kingdom, and WITHOUT the long lines and high prices!)

Have you considered going to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio? It is an amazing roller coaster park. There are hotels in the area. You can also rent an rv and stay there. I believe they have a water park connected to the main roller coaster park. It is a bit of a drive from Delaware, but well worth it! Also, There used to be a Sea World park nearby, but it was sold. They put some other park in it’s place, but I don’t know anything about that.
Have fun! -
PS – A note for your Mom and Dad –
I’m the mother of three and it sounds like your kids are the perfect ages for this park. We used to live about two hours from Cedar Point and when we moved 11 hours away we still took the kids back. It is worth the long drive. There are things for those who don’t care for roller coasters to do also. (Shows, shopping, people watching) – My boys just finished their second year at college and my daughter is 15. They are planning another trip out there this summer.
