How Soon Should I Start Tanning Before Vacation?
by James on Jul.15, 2009, under Vacations
I’m going on vacation to Hilton Head in the beginning of June. I live in Ohio so it’s still chilly and I’m pretty white. I want to go tanning before so that I don’t burn the first day there and ruin my whole vacation. I’m blonde with blue eyes so I want to get a good base tan before I go. How early should I start going tanning and how long should I stay in the beds?

Ooh! I live in SC, and it is BEAUTIFUL today! Not a cloud in the sky!
I would start in early May, for just 5 or so minutes if you’re pretty pale.
Good Luck! And enjoy your vacation when it comes!

I’m getting married the first week in June and I’ll start tanning mid-April.
Too much tanning can look HORRIBLE.
When you go to tan the first few times you will only lay in the bed for about five minutes. You’ll slowly graduate the time, from five to seven, from seven to ten… something like that. However, most places won’t let you lay in a bed for more than twenty minutes.

Start as soon as you can. They will probably start you out at 5 minutes if you’re super pale. That’s normal. The place I used to go to would increase my time by 2 minutes each time I went, which was about every other day. Good luck!
