How Often Can Some One Take A Vacation In The Computer Science World?

My major is Computer science. But i was just wondering, after i start my career, will I be able to take vacations? Im the type of person who would want at least a 2 week vacation every year. But would that be possible if im working in this field? I heard its kinda hard to take vacations since your always working. But how often do people take vacations in this field?

It’s common to get two weeks or more a year, but often hard to take it more than a week at a time. It’s getting better though now that you can usually take a laptop along and sign in if there is an emergency – that’s a lot easier than trying to talk someone through a problem on the phone, which you used to have to do.
