Typically as a new employee you get 2 weeks vacation, 2 personal days and 3 or 4 sick days after your first year. After time they add more vacation weeks per year. After 3 years 3 weeks per year. After 5 years 4 weeks per year. Vacation time you can break into hours. For example if you need half a day off. Personal days you have to take the entire day off.

It depends on how long you are with the company, but generally about 2 weeks. I worked at a hospital that gave us the equivalent of 8 weeks personal time, which could be used for sick days, vacations or paid out in cash twice a year. The only qualification that you had to get it is that you have been working 36 + hours. I didn’t even have to be there a set time such as 6 months.

Vacation is normally 1 week, and personal days are days you can take and get paid for!
