Brainwave Mind Voyages
by James on Sep.22, 2009, under Around the World
We know where the brain is located even if we’re not using it. The brain has a specific anatomical location. It’s right there inside your skull, regardless of how small or how much use it gets. The mind though is an entirely different matter. It has no physical location and we’re guilty many times of not using it. But, let’s go deeper here.
The ultimate objective use of our brain and mind is to help us with the journey of life!
The journey of life is one of increased consciousness and yet so many are afraid of that word. One group that shuns and runs from the use of the word “consciousness” is the church! Consciousness is just another word for God. God is not “a being”; but rather, God IS “Being”. Being is consciousness- consciousness is being. Once we learn how to just BE, we get a deeper understanding of what God meant when He said “I AM”.
Consciousness is not physical, nor is it chemistry or chemical.
As C. D. Broad put it, consciousness is “Mind at large” which he went on to say that “Consciousness is literally unlimited as indeed it would be if each individual were a manifestation of an infinite consciousness”. And where I believe scientists have gone off the track is in their thinking that the brain PRODUCES, or that the brain CREATES something. The brain is not a “source of creation”, but a FILTER!
The brain is like an electrical transfomer outside your house or office that reduces down the power on the line so that there’s enough to allow you to enjoy living in your home, but not so much that it blows your house up. We cannot contain God. Aldous Huxley put it this way, “To make biological survival possible, ” Mind at Large” has to be funneled through the reducing valve of the brain.”
We are the LIMITATION of the UNLIMITED!
Every now and then some consciousness wires get tangled and some “things” get through that shouldn’t. Kim Peek (the real life individual behind the movie the Rain Man), as an example can read two pages simultaneously, one with each eye, and perfectly recall the 7,600 books he has read. How’s that work? It’s an example of a little of the unlimited consciousness breaking through (not being dumbed down by the transformer) in or on a small area.
By the way, Kim spends his leisurely hours memorizing telephone directories!
If I were a savant, I think I’d prefer to be more like Leslie Lemke (a blind savant) who heard Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto No. 1” played once and then sat down at the piano (he’s blind and never had a lesson) and played it flawlessly. This kind of thing isn’t supposed to happen. But it does, millions of times over throughout our planet when the brain filter messes up and lets some consciousness through that normally wouldn’t make the trip.
We have many voyages to take while here on earth, but we’re more interested in other trivial stuff- to our peril! In order to truly BELIVE, we must suspend our DISBELIEF! (Read that again slowly)
Wanna join the journey with us between now and 2012 with some merkaba mysticism?
