Where was the BEST vacation you ever had?

okay, so next year ill be going on vacation. my family [mom,dad,brother] wants to go to myrtle beach, south carolina. i rilly wanna go somewhere new, seeing as we have been there before. i need some suggestions on where to go.
requirements:
1. must be near water [ex. an ocean or lake]
2. must have a beach somewhere near there [this goes along with #1]
3. must have some kind of shopping or historic landmark, or something cool.

some one plz help!!!! my buddy and i need an activity to do over summer vacation. but some thing simple around the house. we live in a pretty rural area in southwestern pa and need a new activity. plzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
