My Optics lecturer said something about how since light travels in a vacuum, you could, potentially, have something travel faster in a different medium, one other than a vacuum.
True or false?

I read some in a travel book and the warnings were so scary concerning assaults, weapons and kidnapping. I am now a little shy of travelling there and yet would like to go if it is safer than what I read. Anyone help?

Mountains generally have very cold temperatures at the peak, right? Cold air has trouble holding precipitation and turns into snow. Why is there greater precipitation in the mountain than in the plains?

I have heard that there are mountain bikes that are good for all terrains but perform better on smooth surfaces also. Can anyone recommend a bike that is like this and isn’t overly expensive. I was thinking about getting a Columbia trail head Mt bike. Any other suggestions?
