I am a college student from Texas and will be going Down Under Sydney to play…. where is the cheapest accomodation available? i dont care about facilities but internet and good location will help!!

Im heading over to London and Paris next year on my own. Its so hard finding a backpackers in Paris that i like. Since im alone i want a place with people to meet and a social atmosphere yet its seems all the places like that are more focused on partying then security. I need a place thats fun n socialable but that also atleast ok to leave my luggage at and that wont let strangers in my room. HELP ME

Im a 23 year old Australian male going to New York and LA in feb, but have never stayed in a backpacker hostel. I always stay in normal accomadation with other people but am going to be staying in a hostel on my own and was wondering what its going to be like. Are they fun or just a way of saving money on accomadation? I would like to hear your stories. Thanks!

I am interested in traveling through Europe, but not backpacking. Just sight-seeing. Do you have to be a backpacker to stay in a hostel? I didn’t know if that was an unwritten rule or something. If so, any ideas where I can stay for cheap if I just want to travel? I’d love to stay at a five star hotel but as a college student, I can’t really say that I can afford it. If you know what I mean. Thank you so much!

I mean, obviously I’m a traveller. I’m going to Melbourne for a week (suss it out, thinking of moving there). I live in Brisbane (have my whole life).
SO, Is that wierd? Do people do that? Am I allowed to do that or when I arrive will they be like ” err, you’re quite clearly not a backpacker “.

I am planning a 30-day visit to Europe (Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Venice, Munich, Amsterdam, Brussels) on a budget during March of this year, therefore would like to stay in backpacker hostels. I shall be with a group of 5 persons. Everybody of the group intends to make it as cheap as possible. Now, should we book our stay in backpacker in advance before coming to each city or I can get vacant rooms on arrival?
