Hiking in Tremblant
With the fall foliage on its way (yup, we’re almost September), there
are many hiking trails in the area of Tremblant
that provide the opportunity to admire nature’s beauty. Hiking is a great way to get
into shape and get those quads working before the ski season. The
coolness of the fall air makes it more pleasurable than the hot and
humid days of summer. At the pedestrian resort village itself there is a trail that starts at the
base of the mountain (to the right of the main gondola). It’s called ‘Le Grand Brûlé’
(it’s our favorite and we hike it a few times per year, especially in October)
and takes you through the woods and on the “Cote Soleil” side of
the mountain, through a visit to the beaver dams and through secluded
lakes, and all the way to the summit. You may choose to walk down or
take the gondola - how convenient!
Although Le Grand Brûlé is a longer day and meant for the avid outdoor
enthusiast, there are many other trails at the mountain that can
allow for the whole family take part in hiking activities. You can
download the Tremblant map.
When preparing for any hike, make sure you bring
plenty of water, snacks and use non-cotton layers to stay warm. The
layering system makes it easy for you to remove layers as you warm up
(and cool down at the top) during your hike. As with any hike, make sure you respect
nature and the environment according to the “Leave No Trace” Principles.
