Where Should I Stay, Friend’s House Or Backpacker’s?
by James on Jan.10, 2010, under Around the World
I’ll be backpacking in Sydney, I don’t know if I should stay at my friend’s house, or should I stay at a backpacker‘s hostel.
If I stay at my friend’s house, I can save money, but I can’t meet lots of people.
If I stay at backpacker’s, I’ll meet a lot of people but I have to spend money on the room rate.

If your intention of a backpacking holiday is to meet lots of people, then stay at a backpacker‘s hostel. If you stay at a friend’s house, you do so by invitation only…..and even so, you have to repay in some way, e.g. via a gift of appreciation, or other reciprocal actions.

Why not split it? Spend the first few nights at a http://www.tripbackpack.com/” target=”_blank”>backpackers hostel so you can meet people, have others to hang out with etc and THEN move to your friends house. That way it’ll cost less but you can still meet people.

Stay at your friend’s place and go to practically any pub on George St or the Coogee Bay Hotel and you’ll meet lots of other http://www.tripbackpack.com/” target=”_blank”>backpackers without having to pay for the hostel room.

let say you are going there for a week, just stay in your friends house for 3 days and stay in the back packer hotel for 4 days or vice versa
