I am not female, but met many travelin around india.
None of the people I met had particularaly awful experienes, allough one felt a little uncomfortable on a few occasions. The main think i noticed was themore confident you are (or appear to be) the less issues you have. Do take care. Do be cautious. Do be responsible. Do have fun.
Don’t become obsessed with worry, don’t think everyone out there is there to get you. Don’t take risks that you wouldn’t take at home.
Finally do have a great time

In India you need not be extra cautious. You can travel as you trvel at you home country. Take encessary precautions you take normally while you travel. If you want help, depending upon the location u can get it from enquiry office in railway, bus stand or traffic police etc. If youcan speak normal English you will not be a problem in any of the states in India. You can have great fun while travelling in INDIA
