by James on Nov.15, 2009, under Around the World
hi there guys,
The 9th of September I’m going to fly From Amsterdam ( The Netherlands ) to Canada, where i will land in Vancouver, BC. i am going to work & travel.
I looked on internet for interesting job offers, but i cant find much about work offering.
my question is if anyone knows a good site or address which offers jobs for traveling backpackers ? Some tips would be great as well !
Tremblant living provide exclusive chalet and condo rentals at the number one ski resort on the east coast. Visit Mont Tremblant for your next vacation.

I recommend looking up jobs on craigslist: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/
That should give you an idea of what is available. It’s also a good idea to just wander the streets with your resume and apply in person when you arrive. It’s been about 7 months since I was in Vancouver, but there were plenty of ads in shop/restaurant windows that help was needed, and I doubt that would have changed much since January.
The wages aren’t really all that great, but if you have savings as a backup you should be fine. Good luck!

Do you have a work permit issued by the Government of Canada ??
If not, you cannot WORK in Canada, that is illegal. .If you do attempt to apply for a job, that fact that you don’t have both a Social Insurance Number , and a valid work permit, will result in no jobs. Employers are not going to risk a huge fine for employing an illegal worker, which is what you are going to be.
You have only yourself to blame for not doing proper research before buying a plane ticket. Did you think that we would just allow you to take jobs here, without having to be approved and having to pay a fee to our Government ?
Bad planning on your part.

I am going to assume you ARE legal to work here…
Vancouver is a face to face job hunting kind of place… lots of http://www.tripbackpack.com/” target=”_blank”>backpackers work here but very few have jobs before they arrive.
most likely you will have to look for work once you arrive, make sure you have enough money to keep you going for at least a month if not more…
Try Grouse Mountain, I know they are hiring and the hire LOTS of backpackers!
