What Types Of Fishing Rods Are The Best To Use In San Francisco Coast?
by James on Jul.19, 2009, under Activities in Tremblant
I want to go out and buy a fishing rod to use in baker beach in San Francisco. I don’t know much about fishing and really want to get into the sport. Also what is it going to cost me? Ballpark figure.
Thanks!

Buy an ugly-stik. Can’t beat them or break them. Should run around $50.

I grew up fishing the Bay Area and it really depends on what you want to spend and what your fishing for. A good set-up for both surf casting, jetty fishing and stripers is something with a 15 to 20 pound line range. Something around 10 feet or more. Anything heavier and its not going to be as versatile for shore fishing.
Cabela’s has a couple different combos that range from under $60 to over $200. Always cruise their bargain bin too.http://www.cabelas.com/
