Can Someone Give Me Tips On Fishing For Prawns?
by James on Jul.19, 2009, under Activities in Tremblant
I’m going to fish for prawns a few days later and I’m completely new at this activity. Can someone give me good pointers as to how I can fish and return with a bountiful produce? By the way I’d be fishing in a man made area, not the sea.

it’s most commonly done in a trap- it’s basically a cage that has a funnel-like entrance which allows the prawns to swim in but it’s very hard for them to swim out. bait is placed inside of the trap and you just leave it for a few hours.
almost anything will suffice for bait- fish heads or carcasses will do the trick. they even have commercially made baits available that you can buy in a sporting goods store.

I would suggest you use a net and catch a whole heap of them rascals.

Belfus, “hit the nail right on the head”. We used them in S.E. Alaska for crab (crab pots), the species comes through a small opening in pot to the attractant (fish head, etc..) and cannot get back out through this opening…
