Boy, he sure has gotten bigger!
Where are the little dogs?
April 6th, 2009 on 9:33 pm
Yes, Merlyn has grown a lot. He is as big as his dam, now, and will probably pass up his sire.
Our Jack Russells are just fine, but not allowed to “help” us film. It just takes two dog doors to stop the little critters from getting out of the house, now.

Absolutely Amazing horse already at this age!

That horse is only 2 years old? Like the other Hackney, a brother I guess?
He is very different but handsome.
Cool horse!

Yes, Merlyn is 23 months old in this video.
I’m not sure what other Hackney you are thinking of. There are at least 4 other Hackney Horses on youtube who have the same sire as Merlyn.
We show video of Panache Aviator and Panache Dynasty.
There is also footage of Oakbriar Devonair and Oakbriar Bristol Baily.

Merlyn does continue to stun us with his qualities. And he remains quite mannerly when it is necessary.
He is happy youngster who shares a large pasture with his sire, so there are funny events every day when those two horses play together.
Merlyn is more nimble than his Dad, but Dad (Canadance) is larger, more clever, and, well, he is “The Boss”.
Maybe Merlyn is learning to be a mannerly colt from his sire?

I can’t believe how big he is! Have you measured him recently? I can’t wait to see him in the show ring.

I keep forgetting to measure Merle, but he’s getting close in height to his Dad, altho certainly not as big.
His bone is very nice, with feet that the farrier and vet rave about.
Merlyn remains a good young colt, even when trying to flirt with the girls out in their field.
Mike & Darcy sure make great babies!
I’ll try to remember to measure him this weekend, and maybe even cut a bridlepath in all that hair.
